Green Hong Kong Green
Following the success of the ‘Green Lamma Green’ project completed in 2008, HK Electric and The Conservancy Association join hands again in 2009 for the “Green Hong Kong Green” programme to explore and promote the ecological and historical value of Hong Kong Island, while enhancing public awareness of environmental and heritage protection.
To take place on Hong Kong Island, the 3-year programme features tree caring work, development of new eco-heritage routes, publication of eco-tour maps and training of eco-leaders for conducting eco-tours.
The programme was launched on 5 September 2009, rolling out at the same time a competition entitled “My Favourite Eco-heritage Hotspots on Hong Kong Island”. Participants are invited to nominate sites with eco-heritage value and winning entries may be incorporated into the new eco-heritage routes.
