Implemented between 2005-2008, “Green Lamma Green” is a three-year project jointly organised by HK Electric and the Conservancy Association to enhance the ecological and educational value of Lamma Island and to promote its sustainable developments.

The project also aims to enhance Lamma Island’s greenery and biodiversity, making it even more popular among local and foreign visitors, attracting more to go to the island and reaping more economic benefits for the Lamma community.

Under the project, over 2,000 flower shrubs and tree seedlings were planted along the Family Trail of Lamma Island, three eco-routes with 20 educational panels established and 60 eco-leaders trained to conduct eco-tours to enhance public understanding of the history, culture, geography and natural environment of Lamma Island. 

An eco-tour map has also been published to further promote the eco-routes developed.  For education purpose, school talks were arranged for more than 3,600 secondary school students to introduce the project and solicit their participation.

• Tree caring (15 February 2007)
• Completion ceremony and launching of eco-routes (25 May 2008)
