To ensure that customers enjoy a safe and reliable electricity supply, The Hongkong Electric Company, Limited (HEC) has to carefully plan for the supply and distribution of electricity to new customers located at the various parts of Hong Kong and Lamma islands.

Customers are welcome to approach HEC regarding electricity supply to new developments at high or low voltage, small electricity supply requiring laying of new service cable or overhead lines, additional load and service relocation or repositioning.

Our Mapping Computer & Drawing Office is responsible for updating of the Company’s cable records by using a Mapping Computer System. The Mapping Computer System is a Geographic Information System facilitating our engineers in planning, designing, operating and maintaining our Company's electrical networks at all voltage levels within Hong Kong Island and Lamma islands.

According to the Electricity Supply Lines (Protection) Regulation, electricity suppliers should be approached for information and plans indicating the alignment of their Underground Cable/Overhead Line before carrying out any works.
