All Geared for Charging Up
Next time when you drive into a car park on Hong Kong Island, don’t be surprised to see battery charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) as HK Electric is setting up seven such stations to support wider use of EVs.
The first one was opened in December at The Peak Galleria. It will be followed by six more to be put in service in stages early this year. Designed to ensure user-friendliness, the charging facilities are easy to operate taking six to eight hours to fully charge up an EV. Charging is free initially encouraging motorists to familiarise with the procedures.
